The Washingtonville Central School District projects were a multi-prime renovation and addition project in which Arris Contracting Company, Inc. was the Construction Manager. The renovation portion consisted of a kitchen area / cafeteria demolition and restoration. (A new kitchen serving line and walk-in freezer were installed.)
Other rooms completed during the summertime renovation were:
- Seven science rooms complete with casework, epoxy countertops and fume hood exhaust units, a new fitness center, and also a technology / computer lab.
- Two new boilers were installed to accommodate the increased heating requirements as a result of the new addition.
All renovation work was completed during the summer recess and all areas were occupied upon return of the students in September.
The High School addition was a three story masonry and precast plank structure. Each floor was approximately 8,200 square feet, which consisted of classrooms, computer labs, and office areas. The ground floor also had a new art room with potter’s wheels / kilns. Exterior utilities were upgraded including new electrical primary and transformer and an underground fuel oil tank with monitoring systems.
The addition was completed on schedule to allow student occupancy upon return from their winter recess. |
